@craig61a Nice clay pipe and good baccy choice; I was smoking Peterson Irish Flake in my clay at the Sealed Knot Battle of Nantwich last January:
I had no idea you could chew it either until stumbling across a post on this forum. The Whiskey Twist was pretty good. Thank you for the kind words!Well, I didn't know you could chew it, but I don't chew so just never investigated it.
Your daughter is an absolute doll!
I've always meant to try Sir Walter Raleigh and after yesterday's experiment with Whiskey Twist I'm definitely going to have a go at SWR! Thank you for the tip and the kind words!I've never tried rope tobacco, either in a pipe or as a chew . . . . I have my 3 favourite pipe tobaccos that I use as chews in order of preference: Sir Walter Raleigh, Smokers' Pride Classic and Smokers' Pride Whiskey. All, to me, are preferable to canned chewing tobacco, and cheaper too. All are quite delicious, especially SWR. I use them when shooting indoors, fishing or hunting. Glad that I'm not alone! Bravo! And that's a lovely family you have there, too!![]()
I've been posting quite a lot about my Mr. Brog (Polish) Nosewarmer lately in this thread. Like it so much I ordered a second one for my travel kit. He's the best known of the Polish makers, and produces pipes from the folk-art to artisan level. You can start there for your eastern european exploration - lots available online.I'm assuming, from the description, this pipe is Russian.
I just asked a question Tue night at Pipe Club if anybody knows anything about the pipe industry in Poland. I'd like to learn more about pipe history in Poland, Russia & other for Soviet bloc countries. Lots of info on British, French, Italian pipe industry & history but haven't ever seen much on other countries. (???)
Very nice pipe indeed , totally elegantAdmiral’s Choice in a beautiful C.B. Perkins large Canadian, listening to Pretty Miss Norma Jean, my first true love, although she didn’t know I existed.
