Good day all! Yesterday was spent with a mix of 1792 Flake with C&D Chenet's Cake in a Wilke smooth Billiard. The Chenet's Cake really civilized the 1792 Flake, resulting in an unexpected and enjoyable smoke. Starting today with Peterson Elizabethan Mixture in a dedicated Tilshead smooth Billiard with long sleight-bent saddle stem.

:( Well, look what beat the postal strike up here in the frozen north! My new Rhodesian Meer. and what a beauty it is. Celebrating this post with my first smoke of the day, a Swisher's Sweet Grape cigar. Don't really like smoking a pipe while I'm at the computer or at task of any type. I sit down and relax, and as I'm going to the range immediately after this post, a cigar it is. Like these little swisher suckers.

I'll post some additional pictures of the pipe when I get back tonight, including a couple of comparison shots with my other meer, and another pipe. This one is the same size as my big boys, having almost exactly the same inner bowl dimensions as my Savinelli Avorio. Also will catch up on the responses to your posts then as well.

The bowl fits my hand perfectly, as I knew it would. The Rhodesian shape is about my favourite for this. Also have other interesting news, but it's time to pack up.

It's been my experience that meers do require a break-in, and I'll be doing that task as usual (and as I did with my other meers and meer-lined bowl, with Smoker's Pride Whiskey, and then with its intended fodder, in this case aro-codgers and aromatics without lat, such as Savinelli 140, TobaccoBarn Cimmeron and Black Velvet, Captain Black and Borkum Riff Darks, SWR and so forth. I have more of these tobaccos than about all the others combined, i like them, and can indulge in my new aquisition with a regular rotation without the ghosting problems with lats that I do find with meers.

PS - now, look at that. The photograph was taken on yellow paper. And it's appearing as peuk green on my screen. Guess it is what it is. Apple based scheizen. :poop:

Have a good day and see ya'll tonight. A final thought - I seriously doubt my upcoming order of the black Brog Nosewarmer will make the postal strike deadline. Depressing, because the last one was a 3 month endurance test. I pay my bills by cheque, too.:(

Trying out a new Bing made by Neal Monier. The blend is 50% C&D Americana and 50% Lancer slices.

That's a handsomely done chunk o' briar ya got there. Congrats!

Waking bowl for me was Haunted Bookshop Cake in an IMP meer. Now that breakfast is down and the coffee is still hot, i'm firing up a bowl of 2020 Sansepolcro in a CAO billiard and catching up here.

Very nice! May it bring you many happy smokes. Looking forward to watching this one color. 👍

Almost half way through this bowl of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Fed my cats, and three ferals. I figure I'll see Abner the Eager before long. Harry the Hairy ate outside. Watching the Orioles-Brewers game. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Did a set of walking reps, and smoked a bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in a slight bent black pattern etched 1977 Lorenzo Lorsan Sigma level top billiard with a gray swirl acrylic saddle stem. Tomato the Brave was laying on the deck when I went out to walk, but he decided to follow me on a small part of two laps, and also did his hide under the car and jump at my feet game a couple of times. None of the cats around here are as playful as Tomato.

Continuing the break-in of the latest addition to my stable. Mad Fiddler Flake (and a touch of the "packaging" from a Leaf By Oscar cigar), in this beaut from Merchant Service.

Wanted one since last September, jumped on it when I got the email that they'd restocked. Which has also confirmed my suspicion that 3/4-5/8 an inch is apparently my sweet-spot for chamber diameter.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am smoking year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Gold Star Jamaican Estate Reserve, neat, is my drink. Still watching the ball game, and getting ready to clean a few pipes.
