While doing some general maintenence on the car in the garage I enjoyed a bowl of GH&Co Kendal No.7 loaded in my Savinelli Roma 106 and paired with a drip coffee.
After I wrapped up with my car, I finally fished the audible version of Rick Newcombe's In Search of Pipe Dreams. Brian was right, the bonus commentary was really cool. Next up is Newcombe's Still Searching for Pipe Dreams. While enjoying a bowl of ODF loaded in my trusty Pete and paired with the rest of my coffee.

A quarter of a bowl left of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Fed all the ferals and my cats except for the absent Abner the Eager. Tomato the Brave is on m'lady's chair chasing his own tail like an over grown kitten.
I got a big surprise after I posted my last smoke of the day, and sort of a resolution of a more than two years mystery. Harry the Hairy came back for more food and attention. When he wanted back out, I saw a cat sitting where Abner's been sitting lately. It looked like Sam the Scamp, and was staring at me. Then, I realized it was the long missing, fatter Shy Stripesy who some of you may remember from my older posts. I went back inside to get m'lady's cell phone so I could photograph it. I talked to Stripesy for a few minutes as I inched closer, and there was no reaction from him/her (never got close enough to figure out its gender). But, as had always been the case in the two years or so that it was a regular night time visitor, Stripesy jumped up from the chair and ran under the deck. What I am wondering is if Shy Stripesy has been coming around much lately, and if it is going to do return visits. At least I know Stripesy is alive which is quite a relief.

Recent Smokes of Note and Conversion Experience: Still on a cigar/pipe fast but that'll end soon; the lip and tongue bite has pretty much gone, and tomorrow or day after I'll get back to a more measured and disciplined use of tobacco and pipe, and minimize the chew to when I am shooting or where I can't light up. 
I'm not a clencher, but I think that's from cutting my pipe teeth, so to speak, on the batch of wooden long stems I bought at the beginning of the journey, which are not suited to the task. They demand a sit down, more leisurely pace in my experience.
The addition of a few cobs has started my "motion clenching", especially shooting in my indoor range going out to the traps to reset targets. I have usually loaded the large cob with Pirate Kake or some other milder English and now happily clench when resetting or other household tasks that crop up when smoking. The miniatures are for my morning "cherry juice" with coffee times, and likewise get clenched frequently when doing a few things around the house.
I find the cobs perfectly suited to the task, and they're cheap, smoke great, and are easily replaceable should I fall flat on my face. BTW, some amazing pipes cropping up in the thread lately. Enjoying the visual feast immensely, as well the anecdotal comments and photos. Gotta get back on task now.

Did a set of walking reps in the steamy heat, and smoked a bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in a slight bent black pattern etched 1977 Lorenzo Lorsan Sigma level top billiard with a gray swirl acrylic saddle stem. Looks like the rain is coming back. Harry the Hairy stood drive way guard, Daisy the Feral Princess laid across the deck steps, and Tomato the Brave played hide and jump on my feet three times. It's business as usual.
