Earlier, I did a set of walking reps, and smoked a bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in a slight bent black pattern etched 1977 Lorenzo Lorsan Sigma level top billiard with a gray swirl acrylic saddle stem.

Then, I enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am smoking year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Gold Star Star 50th, neat, is my drink.

I finished that tin of K&K Caribbean Blue Drake, which actually grew on me the more I had it (not that I disliked it at the start). Rackham is the last one I have for that series, but switching gears now to have this GH&C Glengarry flake before it looses all it's topping.

So far, I like it, this is one that could be an all-day smoke for me if I had the time to smoke more than a bowl or two a day. I have other blends with honeydew flavoring added that I haven't gotten to yet (DT - SVH for example), but I have had others that purported to have honeydew flavor that I just couldn't find amongst the other added flavors, but here, I actually can taste the honeydew and it's delicious.

Now smoking year 2013 Capstan Blue Flake in a straight 1924 Dunhill’s “Shell Briar” patent pot 7 with a tapered black vulcanite stem. When this blend came to America, I stocked up, and decided to try an experiment. I left many tins alone, but I opened a bunch of tins, and jarred them because I wanted to see if one way was better than another. I gave this Capstan Blue dedicated pipe a good clean, and I'll see if I notice anything different.

Peretti No. 333 in a Falcon Bulldog Bantam bowl

IMG_9518.jpeg

The week has been a busy one already. First thing Monday I had a doctor appointment and got to show off my lower BP, down significantly from the end of 2024. I guess that medication actually works. Monday night I was on the hook for a brief system change, which turned into an all-nighter and a full upgrade. I'd intended to spend Tuesday afternoon smoking my pipe out on the deck, and was too tired even to do that.

My Peretti Sting Sale order finally arrived this morning, and I've been looking forward to trying out their tobacco, so I knocked off early today.

The 333 is a nice, flavorful tobacco. It leaves a tingle on my palate and tongue, like several of the blends I’ve been enjoying lately. I almost regret using the little Bantam bowl, because it’s over too quickly, but I’m following up with a larger bowl of Omega.
