View attachment 389804C&D Burley flake #1 in a brand new Algerian briar that only cost me $24.95 shipped.

The first thing I did when I got this in the mail was remove the varnish with steel wool and alcohol and then I added olive oil to give it a nice shine. The sap gives it a peppery spice and there is no better pipe in the world. This would be what God himself would smoke if he ever decided to come down to Bug Tussle and light up a pipe. :) Within 3-4 smokes this pipe will color a rich, deep brown just like a Turkish meerschaum.

Carter Hall in a geniune ancient, oil cured, aged, unstained, unvarnished, unpainted stereotypical hand carved four panel Marxman made at 27th West 24th Street 10 New York City New York, USA by the Seven Carvers, supervised by Louis Cowan, packaged and shipped by Helen Marx and her girls, and sold by Robert Marx with a lifetime guarantee against burn out.

Notice how this one has colored past oxblood to a dog turd shade of brown. As you smoke one of these, they get better and better.

My pipe is a whole lot better smoker, than your pipe, by design.

Grown men labored all day in the fields around Bug Tussle for fifty cents a day, when these pipes cost $3.50.

The last pipe I bought, a genuine Bertram for $16.95 shipped, was made with the finest Algerian briar ever harvested by man. When Bertram Goldman started up Bertram pipes in Washington D.C., he sold Algerian briar pipes fashioned out of 200-year-old burls with so much sap, they would make a pine tree blush with envy. Those pipes sold for $3.50 at the time. These days, that same world-class Algerian briar pipe can be enjoyed by anyone who cares to purchase one for $16.95 off of the internet.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, haddock and green beans dinner with strawberries for dessert. I've a quarter of a bowl left of several years old Dunhill Elizabethan in a straight smooth, dark brown patent era 1952 Dunhill Bruyere ODA apple 806 B124 with a black vulcanite tapered stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Watching the Brave-Dodgers game with Sleepy Suzy by my side.
