Afternoon smoke: Small Meer, cherry dedicated, with the excellent Borkum Riff Cherry Cavendish. Nice smoke. Made the mistake, though, of smoking this duo while doing some computer work. Finally hit me why I should never do this.

Although I'm right-handed, I do (and always have) done certain manipulative tasks with my left hand. Most specifically, I use a computer mouse and hold my pipes always with my left hand, some drawing and painting tasks, and played a lot of piano music specifically written for the left hand alone; as I said, fine detail manipulation.

So, have to constantly put the pipe down when I'm typing, or more usually while I'm scrolling or doing photo mouse editing, that type of thing. And the pipe goes out. Too many relights. Doesn't taste as good. Cigars or not smoking at all a much better plan.

Now, if I could only discipline myself to not smoke a pipe or cigar until at least an hour after eating, I would certainly be able to taste more subtle nuances in more delicate tobaccos. Braindead sometimes.

More useless information from me to you. :ROFLMAO:

Working on a pipe tomahawk from a roughed out kit. Handle is done in aquafortis and linseed/pine resin varnish. Need to work on the head a bit more and add more work to the handle with brass tacks. About to go give it a dose of HH Rustica for the first break-in. Won’t be ready for full duty for another several weeks, but I want to test the draft hole to see how it draws before I secure the head. I’ll do a stand-alone post when it is all done.
That is VERY cool!

Vegas Baby!!!
And I used to gripe about commuting 70 miles, round trip, for work. Had nothing to complain about.

Well, my gig is different than most. I’m a fire investigator. I go to scenes in NV, UT and AZ. All three are big states. lol.

I can’t fly because of my gear (some do, I just have never figured it out)

My fire tomorrow, yes, on Saturday, is here in Vegas. So that one, according to Google is roughly 10 miles.

The drive to Sparks is typical of how things go for me. I leave super early. Get on scene. Get done and go home.

I can stay in a hotel, nobody cares about that added expense, but, hotels don’t allow you in before 3pm. I was almost in my way home at 3, but. I still gotta get home.

And since I’m an early riser anyway, well, it doesn’t make sense in my tiny brain.

I also listen to books on tape and the miles just roll.

Current Book, Who Can Hold the Sea by Hornfisher.

Thanks for coming to my TimTalk
