Did you take a shot at one of the stars, and if so, did you hit it?
Nah, I was doing a little target practice on some Starlink satellites, to improve the view ;)

One night, around 1AM, I was sitting at my telescope, and heard a loud, deep growl no more than 50 feet away. I always bring a little protection with me. You never know when Bigfoot is going to stop by.

I'm not sure I've seen that pipe - especially from that angle; seeing the small bowl and all of the surrounding wood, that would be a great pipe for a short to medium smoke on an outing or picnic. Guessing it's very pleasant to smoke indeed. Like it! 👍 👍
Thank you, Gord. I enjoy it! It's my only 9mm filter pipe, which I am ambivalent about, as it does tend to mute or perhaps I should say "smooth-out" a blend. I think I have a filter-replacement insert somewhere, but haven't tried it yet.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and green beans dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm half way through this bowl of year 2012 Anniversary Kake in a smooth burgundy medium bend 1979 Chippendale (Charatan second) Rhodesian 49 with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Smokes as well as a first and worth the $19.95 I paid for it all those years ago. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. There had been a short break in the rain, but it came back strong, and we got all the ferals inside except for Harry the Hairy who was already in. M'lady dried off Abner the Eager while I dried off Tomato the Brave. Daisy the Feral Princess was dry because she's smarter than the other goofballs.

Starlink passed by my house twice last week. Got a clear four minutes of viewing both nights at around 9:20PM. Quite a sight. The second night it was directly overhead. I wonder what a hermit with no knowledge of Starlink would think if he saw it.

A few years ago I got to see a Starlink train shortly after launch, when they were all close together, and then a few nights later when they were much farther apart. It was a memorable sight. It's a great service, much better than the older satellite services like HughesNet and Viasat. Even 30 years ago I never would have expected to be getting my internet service from satellites a few hundred miles up.

There are so many satellites visible nowadays, far more than when I was a kid looking up at the sky. I never get tired of seeing them.

Much better week thus far. Mac Baren Plumcake in a Barling sandblasted egg after the ranch chores. This is fast becoming my all-around favorite blend. 9/10

Bird report: House finch, California towhee, American crow, Mountain chickadee, California scrub-jay, Steller's jay, Northern flicker, Hairy woodpecker, Western bluebird, White-breasted nuthatch, Spotted towhee, and Anna's hummingbird.

Just a casual reminder that Saturday, in addition to being Clint Eastwood's 95th birthday, is World No Tobacco Day. Happy smokes! puffy
