Have you tried a meerschaum pipe? I find that they don’t have to be rested at all and the smokes still taste fresh.

I have not. I’m quite partial to vulcanite and have trouble finding cobs and meerschaum pipes with vulcanite stems.

Finished up the work day earlier. Kicking back with my bony ass on a bucket, smoking some marlin flake in this very old sandblasted no name Canadian with a vulcanite bit, that I’m suddenly noticing has crazy tight grain.

Did a second set of walking reps in brutal humidity, and smoked a bowl of year 2015 D&R A.B. Rimboche in an undated slight bend, smooth flame grain Wessex Standard egg with a brown accent on the black vulcanite saddle stem.

Finishing up this bowl of Marlin flake as we speak. This smoke has been one of the best ever. 0 harshness and pipe stayed extremely cool throughout. The j21 shape seems purpose made for Marlin flake .

Love that stem rustication! BTW, sounds like an amazing trip.

After giving the rim a quick clean up on the new Armellini, i've decided to head to the orient with MM Luminaire. Then, off to crisp up a pork belly for later.
