Fascinating proposition- I've never actually smoked a clay. My gut feeling is to use a well smoked one that's been used for Virginias- but I don't know how you do it.

@bluegrassbrian @PipeIT says it's a good thing I wasn't living in Jamestown in the 17th Century; I'd be smoking like a chimney and would probably smoke the entire tobacco harvest Jason the blacksmith says I'm a BACCY HEAD

Some 4 or 5 year old Chelsea Morning (I can't remember and it was from before I started putting the tin dates on Mason jars) in a Kaywoodie shape 07 billiard. It's a cloudy, sorta foggy, damp Morning here in NJ. Perfect blend for the occasion.

I prefer the Mountain Flower of the Tupelo. I have a good supply of each, but reach more for the mountain floor. The Tupelo has a bit of a twang in my opinion.
