Hung out w/wifey in the workspace this afternoon, enjoying a bowl of Mac Baren Mixture Scottish Blend in my Savinelli Tortuga 614 faux-Hungarian. This is arguably the most non-aromatic aromatic I have ever had.
Agreed! My very first tasting note on Mixture was, "This blend is just excellent but I couldn't figure out why it's labeled as an aromatic."

I've smoked a lot of it since that first bowl, and my guess is that MacB has added some white sugar to the blend and then called it an aromatic. Excellent smoke nonetheless.

Nice 614!

Half way through this bowl of KBV Mr. Christian’s Kraken Plug in a post-1938 pre-Republic Peterson Dublin straight smooth X155 bulldog with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. Nigel Bruce smoked this model in two Sherlock Holmes movies. If you’re interested in getting one, please contact Smoking Pipes and ask them to put this model back into production. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.

Very interesting codger blend! I'm not really a burley guy, but this has something quasi-exotic going on... Internet tells me coffee, but I feel like I'm getting something almost like Moroccan spice... But since no reviews say anything like that, that says more about me than about the tobacco ;-) In any case it's pretty darn cool to smoke a 60 yo tobacco!
It's very common for well aged burley blends to have some spice. I've experienced that many times.
