Samuel Gawith Skiff Mixture from 2010 (super smooth and mellow, with a bit of spice on the finish) in a BBB 307S bent billiard with saddle stem.

I had Tim West make me a new stem for this pipe after the original vulcanite developed a hole where I jabbed a pipe cleaner through too many times. Tim West does great work. I had him make it in acrylic so I don't have to worry about oxidation any more. And he even transferred the original BBB stem logo over to the new stem.IMG_4388.jpg

GLP Barbary Coast, based in cubed burley, with red Virginia condiment, Perique, and brandy flavoring, in a Zenon (Trudeau) MM hardwood apple. Trudeau was the lieutenant governor of the territory that included Missouri before it was a state. Of course, MM cobs is based in Washington, Mo., just west of St. Louis.

Almost a third of the way through this bowl of Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation Evening Flake in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson Ebony POTY 4AB No. 422/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Getting ready to clean a few pipes.

Tried Nightcap for the first time. I enjoyed it, and its reputation for being a strong blend preceded it, so I took it nice and slow. Just finished the bowl, and I’m not drooling on myself! Little scared to stand up…
I can truly understand that! I don't smoke a lot, and the second time I smoked Haunted Bookshop, I used a large bowl pipe. I really like the stuff, and just didn't realize what a nicotine weenie I am. Woooo!! I didn't stand up for 30 min. Wasn't sure I could find the floor! With my feet I mean. Lol! I use a small pipe for that blend now.

No pictures, but today's smokes were PS Cube Cut in the Dr Grabow Omega and C&D Opening Night in the Savinelli 313 Prince. It started off cool, but warmed up nicely and was relatively dry in the afternoon.

Always trying to improve my technique, and I wondered today if my MTBR (mean time between relights) might improve if I try to avoid sending so much of my breath back into the tobacco. I have a bad(?) habit of puffing back out a little after a relight to check how well it's making smoke.

So my goal was small sips, spaced apart as much as I could. I still needed some relights, but had good stretches between them, especially with the Opening Night. :)

Passing the quarter mark on this bowl of Wilke Lizzie Blood Virginia in a straight black with burgundy undertone sandblasted early 1960s Lane era Charatan 420 billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Fed three ferals, and managed to keep Daisy the Feral Princess and Tomato the Brave away from that very shy black cat that's coming around by putting dry food on the driveway.

Close to finishing this bowl of Wilke Hearth of Galway in an undated smooth straight medium brown made in France Saillard Lord Clerit lumberman with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Fed ferals and my cats. Working and listening to the Dodgers-Twins game.
