No pipe today. I'm smoking too much forest fire to add to the fumar. Cough, hack! Another red flag windy day. I can't imagine how disheartening this weather must be for all the firefighters. Not to mention the evacuated homeowners who don't know if they even have a home anymore. Hope all you good folks on this forum have a great day. Be safe.
I'm in santa fe by the downs, I can see the Jemez mountains from my home. And the fire on the other side of the sangre de Christo mountains. We had ash falling on us for a couple days but with the wind shifting its gone for now.

On my last post I misspelled the name of my Ropp pipe, which is an Etudiant. These are moderately priced, and like many French pipes, it is above its price point in quality.

After years of French courses in school, even auditing courses I had already taken to get the hang of the language, I always manage to mangle it somehow. Such a beautiful language. French speakers always quickly change to English when they hear me say bonjour. My brother-in-law is Dutch and speaks several languages fluently and is conversational in several more. Whew.

Did a second set of walks in the heat and humidity, and am not far from finishing this bowl of year 2021 KBV Your Welcome in a straight smooth dark brown 1930s (Comoy’s) Canadian Club 230 eight paneled billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem.

Did you want to tone down the dark fired in Director's Cut?
Well, when I bought the DC, it was all the rage on the forums… Then the reports came in that it wasn’t the same, they changed the recipe, cheaped out on the Perique…

As received I was ok with the blend, but I figured I’d experiment with it. So I added about 20% of some several year old PS 311 to the mix. It does tend to add a plummy note to the blend, and I enjoy that too. Just a little twist to the blend. Is it like the old recipe? I wouldn’t know… but it’s satisfying to me.
