Does the stem use a push tenon to join to the shank, or does it use a screw in tenon?View attachment 81559

I am not a huge fan of the pot shape as it's usually feels too wide for the blends (VA's) that I enjoy but this mini pot, smokes awesome and feels just right.
It's a push tenon, which baffled me a bit as it maybe a replacement. But it's rounded and definitely not thin bit, so it's not easily clenched.Does the stem use a push tenon to join to the shank, or does it use a screw in tenon?
That is what friends are for!! He got connections!!?
How many Barlings do you have? That other one you posted some minutes back has awesome grain. It's a push tenon, which baffled me a bit as it maybe a replacement. But it's rounded and definitely not thin bit, so it's not easily clenched.
Thanks for the information. That's pretty early for a push tenon. It could be, and likely is, original. If it's a replacement you should see some reworking in the mortise, possibly the vestiges of the original thread cut into the mortise. It's a push tenon, which baffled me a bit as it maybe a replacement. It is indeed. I'm a fan.Cube Cut is delicious isn't it? I wish all those old codgers of yesteryear could have found this instead of the OTC's.
I got given a pipeful of Scottish blend when I met a fellow pipe smoker in a pub garden pre Covid19.Mac Baren Mixture Scottish in a Altinay translucent meer.
@edger I enjoyed it in my clay pipe - yes it is delicious!Cube Cut is delicious isn't it? I wish all those old codgers of yesteryear could have found this instead of the OTC's.
I have three Barlings. I wish I had more, too. You can't have a enough of them. @sablebrush52 has a great collection of them. Maybe he'll post a couple here? Not many around 4, they have been great smokers except for a rusticated billiard that tastes funny, so I dedicated it to lat blends of which I rarely smoke. Definitely would say not enough, though ?.
