The stem is very narrow but the top is quite thick! 
When I pop a half-pint of this, I let the jar sit open for a couple hours. After that I can just let a pinch or 2 air out for 10-15 minutes and be good to go. This is a blend that seems to really benefit from a few months mellowing in a jar, too.
