My new curiousity, a second day in. EA Carey Magic Inch pipe, a honey tan XL bowl slightly bent pot with brown stem. At only $70 American, it’s obviously not artisan quality, but doggone if the thing doesn’t work to keep every smoke cool, and avoid tongue bite. I also am finding that any flavor loss from the added outside air is minimal at worst. Think I may keep 2-3 of these things around for when I need a pipe to serve that purpose of the ultimate cool-smoker.

Today’s challenge isn’t pictured, but it was the worst tongue-bite, hot-smoke stuff for me, which is ol’ Captain Black from an aged, 2 gallon plastic bag. No problem, and no tongue bite.

I've had off-and-on problems with tongue (and lip) bite, less lately since I've slowed down the rate of my smoking by a considerable amount. Yeah, finding certain tobaccos now more the problem, and some very short stems, but I think this is more technique than an inherent problem. Your pipe and it's qualities caught my interest. . . . . source? Inquiring minds want to know. :)

After Post PS . . . . it's a pretty good looking pipe to boot!

Currently puffing on my second pipe of D&R Two Timer today, in a Falcon Extra. puffy

As far as plain and simple honest Burley blends go, I really like Two Timer! It's a little nutty, a little woody and earthy, and a lot mellower and smoother than Pegasus or Haunted Bookshop.

Daughters & Ryan describes Two Timer as just double toasted Burley, though I do think there's a little bit of Virginia in the mix since I occasionally get a little grass or citrus flavor not typical of Burley tobaccos, but it makes for a pleasant enough VaBur blend. I don't know if this is one I'll want to keep and continue smoking over the long term, but I am enjoying it a lot today!

Monday again already?!
Match Victorian in a Briarlee accompanied by black coffee was the 0400 commuter smoke.
Now it’s on to McConnell’s Scottish Cake in the smooth Ropp J07.
I picked up an interesting blasted J07 for backup, but it’ll be waiting in the wings.

The background scenic shot looks a little like a golf course under construction. Just sayin'.... perhaps the spectre of Sir Cretinous is haunting my bookshop?

Terrific backup pipe, I might also add. 👍 👍

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and have passed the quarter mark of this bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Gold Star Peru Penachi Fair Trade Organic, neat, is my drink.

I went to the kitchen for more coffee, and saw a certain intruder at the window wanting out of the sprinkling mist. In the last photo, said intruder tried his hand at stealth without success. I never said Tomato the Brave had a lot of brains, the silly fella. But, he did end up on my lap.

Just a city park (technically a retention that fills with stormwater).

Still rocking the J07, have I mentioned how tasty I think SG Kendal Plug (unsliced BBF) is?
