Very nice pipe, unique with the smooth grain top half and the sandblasted bottom and shank. However, I am curious why you call it a bulldog instead of a “stacked” Rhodesian, with what appears to be a rounded shank? Not that it matters, I am not rigid about it, but it seems the general consensus is diamond is bulldog, and rounded is Rhodesian. I suppose because it is straight, it‘s a toss-up?Last smoke of the day is year 2020 H&H Chatham Manor in a straight black sandblasted, smooth dark brown top bowl 2021 Jim Brown stack bulldog with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Fed the ferals except for Abner the Eager. Sleepy Suzy is by my side. Molly Danger is with m'lady.

Of all the “patented” gadget pipes sold to reduce tongue bite I’ve tried over the last fifty years the Carey system works the best for me. Carey is still owned by the Carey family and every pipe lover should own several. Tonight I’m smoking a Carey Italian made Freehand and just like the old ads promised, it’s cool, dry and sweet, and never bites the tounge. My new curiousity, a second day in. EA Carey Magic Inch pipe, a honey tan XL bowl slightly bent pot with brown stem. At only $70 American, it’s obviously not artisan quality, but doggone if the thing doesn’t work to keep every smoke cool, and avoid tongue bite. I also am finding that any flavor loss from the added outside air is minimal at worst. Think I may keep 2-3 of these things around for when I need a pipe to serve that purpose of the ultimate cool-smoker.
Today’s challenge isn’t pictured, but it was the worst tongue-bite, hot-smoke stuff for me, which is ol’ Captain Black from an aged, 2 gallon plastic bag. No problem, and no tongue bite.

Hoping the best for you brother.Practically no smoking for the month of March. A complicated month. Now it's time to visit the doctor. The month of April I hope it will be more appropriate to return to smoking. I wish you a happy Monday and God bless you.

Took me a tin to latch onto it but it grew on me exponentially. @Sigmund recommended the blend and I was a little apprehensive about trying it. The problem is everything he’s recommended has been a winnerDirectors Cut is slowly becoming my favorite tobacco. There is a really great distinction between really bright citriusy virginias and dark fired. Really pleasant smoke, especially after dinner.
I find it nice especially in the later parts of the day. It pairs well with Tea too! That Castello is a Sexy shape and finish and I’d bet one could smoke Buffalo Chips in it and it would come out great@PaulRVA -- DC sounded good, so i had to join yas. In a Castello. An excellent after dinner smoke. Cheers!
