Now watching the main card of UFC Fight Night 153 (taking place at the Apex in Las Vegas), Manel Kape vs. Asu Almabayev. We were checking out an open house at a mall shop in Pennsylvania to see if the venue might be a place where Susan could sell some of her art. I missed the prelims and will have to watch them later. Had a duck dinner from a restaurant called Miguel’s; the duck was dry and a bit disappointing—not as good as previous orders. The escargot was different and a bit spicier; Susan liked it, and I think I prefer the previous iteration. I’m in a bit of a foul mood—someone stole the propane tank from our grill and I’m feeling violated and pissed off.

Having Seattle Pipe Club Plum Pudding Special Reserve in a Briar, Sweat, and Tears (BST) Large Curve (LC) Swan Neck 3/4 Bent Billiard.

I can’t abide liars and thieves.
The only problem with karma is that it doesn’t run on my schedule…

I smoked the Peterson Sherlock Holmes "Hudson" pipe I bought for my 70th. birthday, nine years ago, and shared my birthday celebration today with my ZOOM buddies. I had a bowl of (you guessed it) Samovar. A mug of Jack Daniel's Tennesse Whisky Coffee was my beverage.
Now I'm off for a dinner with my family.

First smoke of the month was a much-enjoyed bowl of Lane BCA in a Savinelli Mattone 614 faux-Hungarian. On the heels of one of the lousiest weeks in recent memory, with Friday being the worst of the days...needed that one! The six hour dry time performed as advertised. 9/10

Bird report: Dark-eyed junco, White-crowned sparrow, California scrub-jay, Western bluebird, House finch, Steller's jay, Spotted towhee, American crow, Mountain chickadee, White-breasted nuthatch, Common raven, Northern flicker, Hairy woodpecker, Oak titmouse, American robin, and California towhee. Full cast today.

Sipping a scotch highball, listening to some ambient music, waiting for a salmon filet dinner. So far, March is an improvement over a mostly crappy February. Onward and upward, and all that jazz.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, cod and snow peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm a third of the way through this bowl of year 2014 Dunhill Flake in a straight smooth 1960 Dunhill DR 137 group 4 root briar canted dublin with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.

Gave up the idea of a nap due to the raucous chortling of the kookaburras outside the bedroom window and the carolling currawongs.
Not really complaining as the bird life was what led us to the choice of our house
