Getting ready to watch UFC 313, Alex Pereira vs. Magomed Ankalaev, which we were unable to watch live yesterday—there was a party we had to attend in Brooklyn—Lock Yard, the bar where Susan and I met in August of 2017 is closing today. Last night was the big farewell party. Susan and I had talked about having our wedding there if we ever decided to make things official. That was now an impossibility. News of their closing only became known a couple days ago. We got there about 4:30 pm. A little after 9:30 pm, I made a toast to the bar, our friends, and talked about a health scare I had last year that reminded me of the importance of the people in your life, and followed things up with the next best thing given the circumstances:

I haven't been super active on the forum since my wife and I welcomed our second child into the world on Feb. 13, so I missed this!

Congratulations to you, Jeff. That was an incredibly heart-warming proposal video. It was beautiful to see how much love and support was emanating from those surrounding you and Susan. I am wishing y'all many, many years of happiness.

Now smoking year 2020 D&R Penhooker Silver in a straight smooth brown undated pre-Republic Peterson Shamrock 263 Canadian with a nickel band and a tapered black p-lip stem. Had a long day cleaning six estate pipes. Patience and lots of elbow grease goes along with it, but the end results will be a reward for me. Been thinking about what to smoke in them, too. I may end the day with this smoke.

I smoked a bowl of vintage Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in my GBD Militaire 357 sandblasted Prince during the Saturday afternoon ZOOM meeting. The tobacco was a little dry, and though it burned slightly fast, it was still very pleasant and tasty indeed. Peach/Mango Green Tea with a handful of bergs and a splash of Honey Jack Daniel's in a tall tumbler was my beverage.

Passing the quarter mark of this bowl of year 2020 Angler's Dream in a 2018 natural smooth medium bend Peterson 03 apple silver spigot military mount with a tapered black acrylic fish tail stem. Feeding all the ferals except for Abner the Eager. I should be able to end the day with this smoke.

Sleep was difficult, so I'm up and smoking a bowl of year 2004 GLP Stratford in a smooth dark brown medium bend post-1949 Peterson Kildare 80S bulldog with a black vulcanite saddle p-lip stem. Haven't smoked this blend or pipe in a while, but I saw the jar while looking for something else. Figured why not? :) Going to work on the estate pipes a little, and then a few that I smoked earlier.

This morning it’s Rattray Stirling Flake in a Savinelli New Art. The pipe was given to me by a good friend who resides in South Korea. He purchased this pipe at a shop in Seoul and then gifted it to me while visiting the States a few years back. Comsa coffee fresh from the French press and some blues music on the speaker.

On the menu for this morning was GH&Co Dark Plug in my Guildhall. I received a nespresso as a gift from a friend whose wife no longer used it. After having to install an app and connect to my wifi I had to install the new firmware, just so I could descale it 🤣. I am still very grateful but I now see why my friend said it was a pain in the a$$. Nevertheless, for being homemade and for ease of use, it's quite nice 🙂

Honest to goodness I wanted to smile in my selfie but couldn't do so without looking like a creep 😅.
