Now Smoking: Pre-Dominican Prince Albert, in a 5.3" Peterson Sherlock Holmes Series XL23 Le Strade model, smooth apple - I would call it properly a 'ball'. for it looks like a fully-round cannon ball - with sterling sliver band, fully bent Vulcanite stem, and P-Lip button.

This pipe is one week new, only on it's 3rd trip through the rotation, and while I absolutely love the shape of this hefty 3 ounce radically bent pipe, so far is a big-time 'gurgler'.

Time will tell. - Sherm Natman

A couple of minutes or so away from smoking Wilke No. 72 in a pre-1974 dark brown straight Larus & Brother Co. Signature billiard with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite stem with the initials LCR on the top of the stem. This blend was smoked by Walter Cronkite. Tomato the Brave was very hungry, and being the only one outside, he got extra food.

With nearly 20 years on this tobacco, it’s a fabulous blend. Rich and robust flavor. The profile changes as I smoke; cigarish notes, fig, sweet and sour, dark fruit sweetness all combine. Latakia smokiness far in the background rounds out the profile nicely in the first half. Perique sharpness becomes apparent in the last half of the bowl, but does not overpower the blend. Time as been kind to this blend. My only regret is I have but 7 ounces left. I have several pounds stashed away that is of a newer vintage, though.

Now Smoking: 2/3rd Sutliff Medium Burley ribbons blended with 1/3 Sutliff TS-3 Natural (unflavored) Cavendish ribbons to slow the burn rate and add to the body of the one-note straight Burley smoke, in my little 3.75" Rattray's The Good Deal 99, rusticated apple with fully bent Acrylic stem. Community Coffee Decafe, light and sweet; and, Perry Mason rounds out the current ensemble. - Sherm Natman

Back in bidness with the 6 panel bent lattice meer! Had to take a short break when the plastic tenon/mortise decided to play a game of f*ck around and see what happens... New improved mortise and tenon now installed and hopefully for good. MB Virginia Flake took the flame eagerly and, with a bit of rum, is keeping away the evening chill. Kudos to SMS Pipes who took this in and took care of it for me in short order. Good folks.
