Enjoying C&D Match late Evening and later Autumn Evening in the Vauen bent egg. These two blends are quickly becoming favorites (I'm also running low on others !). Autumn Evening requires some drying time otherwise its a wet smoke but has a pleasant honey maple whiskey after taste and smell. Match late Evening is best smoked slowly and savored ... very calming. I'm finding that my preferred comfortable pipes are the full bent billiard and the bent egg. Last night I had my last bowl of Lane 1-Q and was complimented on the smell ! I guess that's the one for smoking around others. I will have to place an order soon and am pondering what to re-order. I doubt I'll hit bronze, silver or platinum status but maybe I'll can get to mylar or tupperware ... ;) :ROFLMAO:

Good day all! Started with Peterson Elizbethan Mixture in the companionable Upshall P smooth-rimmed Dublin with pencil shank and tapered stem. With Spring hanging heavy in the air here in Florida, an urge has begun arising for "florals," namely Peretti No Name. So ....

Going to have Wilke No. 515 in a Peterson’s Pipe of the Year 2021 Terracotta Dutch Billiard (122/500, which I like to think of as a Bizarro World version of a 221B Baker Street numbered edition) 4AB. This tobacco is from December 2021—I’m not sure if this is the true original recipe, or the one that had the oft requested increased rum content that someone mentioned here the other day, before there was the version that was marked as having twice the rum that @JimInks has been smoking lately. It seems pretty heavy on the rum and I suspect I might enjoy it with less rum; there’s an odd sensation on the tongue with this blend. Maybe it’s the booziness.

I've been on these forums for about a month or so, and have been amazed at the variety of tobaccos, depth of expertise, and knowledge you all bring. Thanks for all the lessons, esp. on pipe care, which I sorely needed. I'm a one trick pony, sticking to the tobacco I got to like in grad school and with a love of (mostly) big Canadian style pipes. Familiarity breeds contentment? Anyway, enjoying reading and learning but meanwhile, sticking like a limpet to my habits.20230310_090259.jpg

They’re all over the place. :)

Someone get this boy a pair of glasses! LOL 😆 🤓

A lot of them at SPC;

A lot also at Al Pascia;

A lot too at Tabaccheria Corti;

Radice Rind pipes are extremely popular and can be found pretty much from any pipe dealer that carries Radice. :)
Okay, the last two do have that pipe with the bottom rugged and top carved. But SP and a few others do not. I expected it to come up more often so didn't look beyond a couple of sites (and the last two were not it)

Started the evening's smoke with a bowl of Three Nuns, stuffed the coins randomly, after a quick drying time of 15-20 minutes, smoked to ash.
Moved on to Mac Baran Navy Flakes, F&S and rubbed out, as usual, in a Dunhill ODA 840 F/T.
Finished the evening's relaxation period with another bowl of MB NF, completely rubbed out in a 1948 Dunhill's 59 F/T, that pipe is a great little smoker.
Of course, the obligatory cider, was my choice of refreshment, after wetting my whistle with a grapefruit flavored spritz.
I must say, that's quite the well-groomed beer you're sporting there!

1 1/2 oz of tequila
1/2 oz of mezcal
3 dashes of bitters
Bar spoon of agave syrup
I like to do a splash on Cointreau
Usually there’s not a splash of Cointreau, they use a torch and a spray of orange peel.
Oh, and agave syrup instead of regular syrup! 👌
I've got to try me one of those! Thanks for the recipe, I fortunately have all of the ingredients!
