Sutliff’s Heavy English in a No-Name Bent Billiard. I acquired this pipe as a basket pipe sometime in the late 60s. There are no markings, but I think it was intended to be a GBD Prehistoric. Notwithstanding its lack of pedigree, it’s a very good smoker, which shows you what more than half a century of smoking can do to improve a pipe.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, Jethroe Bodine size bowl of freshly made chili (a little over two pounds worth), and a bowl of freshly made chocolate pudding for dessert. Then, I smoked a bowl of year 2012 St. James Flake in a dark brown smooth straight post-WW2 LHS Certified Purex 24 squat bulldog with a nickel ferrule and built in stinger and a black acrylic saddle stem.

Now smoking year 2021 unreleased Sutliff Black Virginia flake in a late 80's, early 90s James Upshall P DS Tilshead England Made By Hand L185 Canadian with a silver band and a tapered black vulcanite stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.

Had some home stoved MB Burley London Blend in a 2016 Boswell partially rusticated bent billiard and now I’m having some 1983 McCranie’s Red Ribbon in an Altinay rusticated CF stemmed poker/sitter. I LOVE these pipes. If I ever hit the lottery, I’ll buy one for each blend I own. The tobacco isn’t too shabby, either.
