Another first-time try...Peterson Nightcap (sample) in my Savinelli Miele 611 KS bent dublin. Last smoke of the month for me. Bird report: Common raven, California scrub-jay, California towhee, Northern flicker, House finch, Oak titmouse, Downy/Hairy woodpecker (who the hell can even tell the difference from 50 yards out?), and a Red-tailed hawk. My favorite dinner, eggplant parmesan, awaits, with Charles Shaw organic Cab. Hard to believe I've been smoking a pipe for three years now without having tried Nightcap...better late than never, right? ?

Still feels like Friday to me today, so I'm going with it. That makes tomorrow the weekend, right?

Having a bit of GL Pease Westminster from 2004 in a little Dunhill 1110 Liverpool, one of my favorite pipes. Light as a feather. Breaking into a bit of my father's homemade whiskey from deep in the hills of West Virginia, made with the best water I've ever had - anywhere - from a year-round mountain spring.

All while I'm clearing out some wasp nests around the house. It's that time of year.

It's a nice evening here in Texas. Enjoy, y'all.
