Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am just passing the quarter mark on this bowl of HU Tobacco Aus dem Krater Plug in a smooth light brown 1984 Fero Danese (Lorenzo?) calabash made in Italy with a black vulcanite saddle stem.
1960’s Half and Half in a Meer lined wooden pipe with Bowling Ball stem. The stem has a foil filled diamond. No doubt this is a way around briar shortages. Pipes like this fascinate me.

The Braves look very good. Acuna is on the way to being a great player and I hope he makes it. The young guys on the pitching staff have to live up to their potentials for this season to be a winner. I still think the Braves made a mistake by letting most of that potent bullpen go when they could resigned them for not a lot of money.
It’s making me sad that I’ll miss the Baseball season, my Yankees are due for a win this year.

I’m rooting for England of course but I might have been writing this in German had it not been for the brave Polish Airmen during WWll, so I’m really hoping both teams make it to the World Cup. 1st bowl of Wilke Surdurg Crystal Palace in a Savinelli Molinelia 121 KS pot that was my dad’s. This is a great tasting, full English, with lots of complexity. Chilly and breezy here with a light rain but I’m happy to be out on the covered porch. (ps-my dad smoked everything, but mostly cavendish based aros. I have a few of his pipes but never did any bowl treatment other than basic cleaning. This week I decided to try coffee grounds as a few members suggested. Seems to have worked really well to erase the cavendish ghost.)
