Almost opposite Astleys in Jermyn Street there was Charatans from where I bought this pipe (and several others) in the late 1970s . . . these two shops forming what I call The Golden Triangle of London pipe shops which included J. J. Fox, Sullivan Powell, H. Simmons, Fribourg & Treyer, Dunhill, Davidoff and Robert Lewis.
