A friend and I decided to try out our recently acquired clay pipes out with a new Virginia. Turns out that a tin of St. James Flake I traded for lost it's seal during shipment and is now relegated to current smoking rather than the cellar to age. First experience with ST. James for us and neither are long on flake experience either. Although we suffered a bit with multiple lights, the flavors began to come out and were surprisingly mild, smooth and had a sweet-sour thing going. I like this flake. Jus need to get the hang of flake tobaccos and working with Virginias. Happy to say that I found a new style that is really good!

Another round of Elwood Flake #2 in the Stanwell Black & White Dublin. Almost ready to give this fruitrageous pipe candy an honest review. ????

I taste a light musk in the topping, did you happen to pick up on that? It almost tastes like musky cedar with some strange fruity/floral notes. It’s an odd combo but one that I definitely enjoy from time to time.
