Smoking some Gawith & Hogarth Sweet Cherry Twist in this "Dakota" Billiard I rescued from one of the various EBAY hells.Cleaned it,restained it, opened the draw. The chamber had a lot of charing, and some heat cracks underneath.I filled them in with a Honey / Charcoal layering plan I learned about on he internet.Yes,the chamber is now wider, and yes, that weakens the draw somewhat, but the tobacco flavor is well represented.View attachment 23099View attachment 23100View attachment 23101
Thanks for the Kind reactions, guys.

In this week 1 of Covid craziness, I’ve had a couple of bowls a night:
FVF in my favorite unnamed Meer.
St James Flake in a beautiful 1980s Sam Martin Bent.
Dunbar and Tillbury in a rusticated Peterson Billard
And some C&D Opening Night in a super large Mount Batten bent Poker sitter.

In other words, it’s been a good week for pipe smoking.

How is that HU Makuwa?,I ordered some of their Director's Cut last night. I realize it's a different mixture,I'm just curious, anyway.thanks for any guidance you can give.
It's incredible, couldn't recommend it more strongly, especially if you like rich, semisweet burley-forward blends. I like a lot of different burley blends, but the HU burleys are in a class of their own to my tastes. And Makhuwa is cheap.
