Prince Albert in an imported Italian counterfeit Marxman Big Boy Chubby only marked Scoops and Imported Briar- Italy. Wally Frank and other mail order sellers peddled a lot of imported pipes that looked like they were made in New York, that’s the most likely source.
In every way it’s a complete knock off of a Big Boy Marxman Chubby right down to the use of Algerian briar, and the stems even (sort of) interchange.
Maybe the Marxman originals were a wee bit better polished.
A wonderful smoker, regardless.
The largest pipes of the golden age of American pipes are not huge today, by our tastes, styles, and fashions.

In the late forties a Marxman Big Boy Chubby was enormous. They cost $15 when a dollar would still buy a Yello Bole.
Compare with a brand new Italian briar Greywoodie and a seventies or eighties Grecian briar E A Carey. You can’t duplicate Algerian briar, but pipe styles are much larger.
