Another full day here at the ranch, capped off with Vauen #14 VA flake in a Peterson Irish Harp 80s sandblasted bulldog. Truly an underrated blend in its category, beats out HH Pure VA and Peterson Flake in my book. Of course, I'm wasting time typing all this, since everything is all 507-C anyway. 9/10

Bird report: House finch, California scrub-jay, Mountain chickadee, White-breasted nuthatch, American crow, Red-tailed hawk, Sharp-shinned hawk, California quail, California towhee, Steller's jay, Oak titmouse, Northern flicker, Hairy woodpecker, Spotted towhee, American robin, Western bluebird, Anna's hummingbird, Violet-green swallow, and Mourning dove. Full cast today!

Got a round of golf for tomorrow morning, so now to decide what crowd-pleasing aromatic to bring... 🤔

Now smoking and reviewing Low Country Pee Dee in a medium bend smooth paneled 2017 Celebi Turkish Meerschaum with a tapered gold and black swirl acrylic stem. Fed all the ferals, and they all wanted out except for Abner the Eager. He's been in all day. Watching the Orioles-Mariners game that I recorded earlier today as I review.

Ended the day with the 2nd break-in smoke in my huge new Rhodesian Meer. Loaded it up with Borkum Riff Dark Cavendish. Not a bad smoke for a break-in, but couldn't quite catch the plum undertone of this fine tobacco. Another four or five smokes in this Mariana Trench should smarten it up, but I lost interest in it at about 80 minutes and let it die. When this pipe is finally ready and rarin' to go, it'll be fed a genre dedicated diet of mild cavendish tobaccos, and aro-codgers like the BR above, SWR, genres I like and have lots of. It's already a grand smoker.

Both this pipe and my Savinelli Avorio (which is biased for aromatics), will be getting a lot more smoking in the future, especially next week while I recuperate listening to operas by Wagner, Puccini and probably Beethoven's "Fidelio." The pipe rotation and tobacco system is almost complete. It's already paying dividends.

However, it's now pumpkin time. Well, more like mosquito time. Whatever. And to all, a good night!
