Briar Fox has been one of my daily smokes for a long time. It’s great new and aged. Been smoking a tin of 2009 and 2024. And I think the 2009 is slightly better. You seem to be enjoying Briar Fox, it’s one of my favorites for natural tobacco flavor.
Have you tried C&D Pegasus or Riverboat Gambler?

I didn't look that close. The body was less than an inch but the leg span was about three inches. Recluse and grass spiders look similar. Hobos are a bit smaller but super aggressive. Fisher spiders are same size but docile. We have them all. It could have been a plain old orb weaver too ... I'm not an entomologist. Big spider, 8 legs, 3" or so. If it was aggressive I would have killed it but as they eat bugs I tend to let them go ... outside. Not sure about up in your part of the country, but down in Tennessee, I have seen a lot of recluses and none were anywhere close to 3". Did you see the "fiddle" on it's back??
Yep, I agree on letting things be that are of benefit. You're right on the grass spiders looking similar and getting very big. Very thin legs too.I didn't look that close. I had an inaugural bowl of my cherry version of Three Friars in a home-made cob pipe. I plastered the outside of this one which allowed me to drill out the chamber enough to use a tamper. It smokes great!

Y'all are giving me some serious spine chills. Just sayinSutliffe 507-C in the Vauen Olaf 4873 bent egg ... I can't compete with killer snakes but I did just find a 3" brown recluse in the hallway that I had to catch with my trustee apricot preserve jar and relocate outside to the woods.
My gut says brown recluse but it could have been a hobo spider. It had thin legs though, so I'm pretty sure it was brown recluse. Its easier to catch them than to kill them as they are tough and get hyper aggressive if you miss.
P.S. It probably came inside on someone ... guess who ???
That is truly a beautiful billiard. Wow. The grain and the finish.KBV Jim’s Special Flake in a Stanwell Hand Cut
