My first go with McConnell Red Virginia, this tin from 2023. Very good first impression in this Savinelli Roma. I’m thankful to be in the PNW where it isn’t too hot this week. Stay cool out there
Near the half way mark of this bowl of year 2014 Full Virginia Flake in a slight bend 1968 group 4S Dunhill Shell 475 cherrywood with a tapered black vulcanite stem. This should get me to dinner time. Fed all the cats except for Daisy the Feral Princess who wasn't hungry. The Braves-Mets game starts after the top of the hour.
Rough weather has pushed through and left us with a bluebird clear day but it's bitterly cold and a quick check of the road out the front of the farm confirms it's a sheet of black ice. But that's not my concern today as the coffee is hot, fire is warm and some Barbary Coast in a Pete is just fine by me.
The sun went below the tree line so I decided to have another bowl of sutliff 507-c in the Vauen Olaf bent egg. The bowl and shank got hot to touch all the way up to that briar ring on the acrylic stem. I had to hold the pipe by the stem. I was slow sipping but its just hot out. I don't know how you members in the mid and south and southwest take this kind of heat ... then again ,,, all my ancestors come from rain, snow and ice and mountains so that could be a factor. Still ... a hot pipe is better than no pipe. Stay cool everyone ! (temperature wise too ! )
Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and snow peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm not far from finishing this bowl of year 2014 Esoterica Tilbury in a straight smooth Danish gold straight grain undated W.O. Larsen Hand Made in Denmark dublin with a tapered black vulcanite stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo. It's too humid for coffee tonight, so ice water and bergs is my drink. The ferals except for Tomato the Brave are inside out of the heat. Molly Danger was in the den for a while, but she got nervous with ferals around, and went back to the bedroom. Watching the Braves-Mets game with Sleepy Suzy by my side.
Now smoking KBV Orcish Delight (Sword & Board) in a 2003 medium bent Ural meer with a lined and etched egg shaped bowl with a silver band and a pearl brown acrylic saddle stem. Been working on a review of this blend, but haven't finished it. Abner the Eager is on top of my chair.
