Interrupted the flow of my day (ie a nap) by a special delivery. Mentioned the other day that I'd pressed the button on my last (for now) Mr Brog, and it was delivered about half an hour ago. Hastily threw together four pictures to show y'all my new toy. A couple of months ago, someone in this thread posted his Old Army pipe, and I liked it. A lot. Said, after a pipe in the park with a windstorm, that "hey, this Old Army thing might be the ticket in the wind. So kept my eyes open. And I found what I wanted in Mr.Brog Shop.

It's a special, limited edition Mr.Brog Old Army in Olive Wood. Loved it. Pulled the trigger and here it is. My collection is almost complete, and even now I'm happy with what I have. Totally. A request after the pictures.

Special Request: I don't know anything about olive wood as a pipe wood, but I think it's absolutely beautiful. Hope you find this pipe as beautiful as I do.

How to break in? Heat sensitive? Don't want to mess up this one because I'll not be able to get another. It's a limited edition and there are only two left of the 12 I saw when I started keeping track of it.

Would really appreciate all of the help on this wood and pipe I can get. As with all my Brogs, the design is great, and it comes apart very easily - almost no force needed.

I'm all ears. Really!

Luv, Gord.

I've always treated olive wood just as I do briar and I've never had a problem with it.
