Dan, it looks like there will be stiff competition, but I have no doubt you can take the prize if you want it and keep practicing!Who do you think will win the clay pipe smoke-off?
I can almost smell all that pipe smoke - and some of it will be mine when I take part
I used PETG which can handle the heat of pipe smoke no problem, and is much more resistant to heat than, say, vulcanite. Works great, and loving it!How is that 3D printed stem? I asked brother-in-law about it since he has a 3D printer and he recommended not using it for pipe stems since the plastic isn’t made to be heat resistant.
I'm adding a postscript. I decided to put away the Vauen Olaf as well and get out the Irish Second xl339S which I promptly loaded up with flake and lit and am currently smoking. This morning Sutliffe 507-C in the Peterson Pub pipe. I've salt cleaned my regular rotation and am switching them out for my Petersons for the summer (except for one I'm undecided upon as yet). This afternoon 507-C in my Erica Pete second 302 (with the Savinelli 6mm filter stem rather than the original orific bit stem). Some on this site claimed this pipe is a 303 but when I bought it I was told it was a 302. The chamber is 17mmx35mm. It a great sipping pipe for short smokes.
