MacBaren Black Ambrosia in a Darnley Pot.
This is one of the pipes I received from my wifes grandpa.
He stopped smoking in the 1970s and his pipes just sat for decades until I found them when cleaning out his home after he passed a few years ago.
Nothing of any great value, but in good shape.
The only two I had cleaned up were a pair of "Match Grained" Yorkshire pipes with a case.....one Billiard and one Apple.
This Darnley Pot I recently cleaned up and it turned out to be a great pipe.
His pipes were all VERY dirty on the outside. This pipe appeared to be just black.....I saw ZERO grain through the sticky grime.
I just used some 0000 steel wool and some Carnuba wax and the grain popped out nicely. There are about 10 more pipes im gonna work on....including a couple Dr Grabows and a couple Kaywoodies. He bought all these pipes during WW2 and stopped smoking n the early 1970s.
