My order of Sutliff States of Virginia: Stoved/Yellow/Red, Sutliff Private Stock Limited Edition, arrived today. I’m going to sample the Virginias individually for a unique opportunity to see what each component tastes like by itself before combining them. I’m going to start with the Yellow and Red in a couple of very small El Morjane El-Kala Algerie 34 S Bulldogs; then, I’ll have the Stoved in an El Morjane El-Kala Algerie 1377 Apple. The small chambers on these pipes makes them ideal as tasting pipes.

After sampling the three components, I’m going to mix roughly equal amounts (I don’t feel like setting up the digital scale) and have the combination in a Savinelli Capri Root Briar Slightly Bent Tall Stack 906.

Been to the Knights Tournament at Bolsover Castle today; got dressed up with my coif, surcoat & handmade linen shirt. I fitted right in!
Got given a drink of hot chocolate and 6 cigarettes for being sharply dressed; no beer today!

@AppalachianPipe92 I've only ever smoked one clay pipe of McClelland; at the Nottingham pipe show last year. The Clay King was a big hit with the crowd - they all said I was the sharpest dressed at the meet-up. Got gifted a few bowls worth of different blends to smoke in my clay and one of the people I met let the Clay King fill his tobacco pouch!

With Father’s Day tomorrow, I decided to open something new!
I decided on a tin of C&D, Virginia Oriental April 2019 commemorative tin for Chicago Pipe Show.
The tin note is telling me I’m going to enjoy this blend of flue-cured bright leaf, six year old Izmir, five year old Basma, and a pinch old Perique and Burley.
