Forgot to snap a pic but smoked C&D Constellation in an MM Legend, the first pipe I ever owned. Also, I need to remember not to smoke on the drive to work as the toothpaste taste still hasn't worn off by then and it just kills the taste.
Good day all! Started again with Peterson Flake, this time in a Burak Connoisseur smooth Tankard with tapered stem size 2 - a flake pipe with a conical bowl. I was exploring the flavor profile. Bottom line: very nice but missing some of subtle notes that a narrow straight-wall pipe seems to impart for me. YMMV. Next up is KBV Red Line.
C&D Opening Night blended with one coin of 20+ year (when the tin was opened) Escudo Navy de Luxe in a Richard Mason bent apple with ebonite stem. I included a picture of the coin because someone asked about it a couple of months ago.
A long day of planes, trains and automobiles brought us to the farmouse we'll be staying at for a week in Merry Old. In the end, surpirsed myself with the tobacco choices I decided to pack. Some trusty Peretti Ebony, and two new tins of blends I haven't tried yet: Viprati and Squadron Leader. Popped the Squadron this evening for inaugural bowl (how could I not) after a couple days of travel. It's good! Tomorrow I've lined up a visit with the local tobacconist and Condor and Clan are in stock!
Smoking some Half and Half in another modified MM Cob. Not the prettiest pipe, despite the purple color, but just another experiment, fucking around with what I can do on a drill press. Have been smoking a bit of 1/2&1/2 recently, really like it in an almost addicting way.
I also modified a 5th Ave MM Cob and turned it into a hex panelled. Polished the sides before taking it to the wire wheel and then polished it again. Added black finish and polished it one more time. I love how this one turned out, almost don't want to smoke it. I'm not a huge fan of how cobs smoke to begin with, they just cheap enough to mess around with so I smoke them anyway. But this one I think should go to someone who loves cobs and might appreciate something different.
