Trying out some C&D Virginia Flake, as recommended by @cosmicfolklore and a couple others.

The thing I regret is ordering it in bulk form along with 8 different cherry blends, so it got a little tainted along the way. I catch a slight whiff of cherry each time I open the jar. It doesn’t seem to be carrying over to the smoke, thankfully, but I’m going to relegate this to a cob if my Virginia pipes start smelling like cherry!

Special for @RustiePyles CPG - had no idea was in the neighborhood. Heading out for a walk to Milverton shortly - they have a pub there...View attachment 228102...

Oh wow, you’re in England, so the Italian tour is over, and now we are getting the English tour? LOL 😆

Oh I hope we’re going to see lots of pics! :)

Have fun! ❤️
FVF in a Radice Nut. I opened this tin 5/5/22 and my first smoke was meh. Now after over a year it’s still a big meh. I seriously don’t get the following this has. It’s not bad in the least. Simply like vanilla ice cream or milk n toast. Just not complex at all. Of course vanilla ice cream and milk n toast have a huge following so who am I to say 🤣 Taste preferences always amaze me.

Have you dried it out really crisp before? If not, rub out a flake, and then let it go pretty crisp. Then barely light it, and take only small sips, like a wine taster pecking around. You should then be able to pick up various floral notes too, and you should notice differences too, with all the other flavors, taking on slight different variations.

The key I find, is going pretty crispy, barely lighting it, and slowly and gently sipping, then let it go out and cool down before relighting.

Had a maiden voyage smoke of Presbyterian in my H.I.S., not sure of the shape name. Presbyterian was one of the first blends I'd heard about when I first started watching YTPC videos to determine if I wanted to try it, so it was very satisfying finally smoking it. Easily the most visually appealing blend I've seen, I love the yellow tones of the Virginias against the dark Latakia. Flavorwise I couldn't get much, but I'm sure that will improve as I get more familar with the blend and improve my cadence. This is the second English I've smoked, the first being Sutliff Medium. That one is pretty PG forward so it's nice trying an English without that. I jarred up the Sutliff Medium and will probably revisit it once I finish up this jar of Presbyterian and the Plum Pudding I've also bought.

@OSOBUCO I enjoyed the Full Virginia Flake in my clay pipes; I'd finish the tin for you but I'm thousands of miles away and the postage would be horrendous!
