Now smoking year 2014 HU Directors Cut in a smooth straight Lane era Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad. Have enough for one more bowl.

I wonder if they just changed it recently? Or maybe it’s a regional thing? The Brookeshires closest to me has the New Orleans Blend but it has a yellowish label (not purple), like it has always had, and says “with chicory.” When I looked it up online, it was a purple label with no mention of chicory. Weird. ?

i don’t know when they changed the labeling. My dad got a taste for chicory coffee when he was in the military, and I went to buy some for him when he was visiting a while ago, and I ended up with another brand, since the New Orleans blend didn’t have the ground chicory added anymore.

Had some KBV King’s Ransom, Mycroft, and Jupiter Slices, some McLelland Master Penman, SG 1792 Flake, and HU Fayyum Kake in a variety of pipes including a Boswell’s Fishing Pipe, Tsuge Stack, Brebbia Sun, Dagner/MM Poker Cob, and Nording Compass.

I find that switch a bizarre business decision: New Orleans coffee is known for having chicory added to the brew, so they take the chicory out of their "New Orleans Blend"? File that in the "strictly genius managerial decision" folder, I guess.

My Directors Cut came while I was away.I smoked it in semi broken-in Executive.I've had some va/per mixtures,but Director's is head and shoulders above most,in my humble opinion.very different.

First smoke in my EMC Custom Cob and smoking a sample of HH Vintage Syrian courtesy of Eric Mills he sent with the pipe. Pic is a little dark, but the stem is actually a Brindle stem.
