A mix of CB Royal and Cherry with Borkum Riff Cherry Cavendish in a Falcon Extra bent with Istanbul smooth
Lane's Holiday Excursion in my old, old CM meerschaum cutty. This blend is delightful attempt to replicate the original Larus & Brother Company, Inc. product, Holiday Pipe Mixture.
Of the latter, William Serad had this to say in his "Trial by Fire" column in the Fall 1999 issue of "Pipes and Tobaccos" magazine, "A blend! Latakia! Oh joy! This is chunky, and has some partially rubbed-out short cut flake Burley and other ingredients. The box says it has five tobaccos, so there is probably some Virginia. It is fairly cool, and has a tangy taste, almost a little bitter. I liked it."
