Now smoking year 2016 Wilke #10 in a smooth straight brown 1949 Yello-Bole KBB Century Model Lovat with a nickel band accent on the black vulcanite saddle stem. A friend gave me a gracious amount of this discontinued blend that used McClelland tobaccos. Since I haven't smoked this pipe in a while, it gets the nod for this blend. Cleaned a few pipes. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Nice Pipe. Not one of yours I've seen before. Do tell, what is it?
A few years ago I was taking care of my dad at his home in North Carolina. He was 92 then, and anyway, I was out in his garage and found all the pipes of his I remembered being on his desk and him smoking back in the seventies when I was a boy.
I asked if I could have a couple, and he told me to take them all or they’d get trashed sometime.
The pipe in the post is unbranded other than a “Denmark” stamp-probably bought as a basket pipe at Iwan Ries (top left in the pic below)
Other than the two cobs on the right, these are his pipes. Trying to figure out how to clean them up led me to this forum, and here I’ve been since.
Never smoked a (tobacco) pipe until then.

Just spent an obscene amount of money for 2 tires on my truck. Sigh. So it goes. At least my truck is safer on the road.
Now sitting at home in the shade, smoking Haunted Bookshop in my small briar. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Thanks Carol.
Dang, you have had a run of bad luck lately.
Is there any update on the A/C front?

Dang, SB, your dad had some good taste in pipes. Those are really "lookers."
I know they mean a lot to you now that he's gone. I have one from my dad. A basic little Medico and I wouldn't take $1,000 for it.... I only smoke it on special occasions and then only with SWR which is what he always smoked.

AC is set aside for this year. Got a small one for the bedroom, so I can sleep a little better. Making do with a big a.. fan someone gave me. Makes the LR more bearable. But I've been having slow air leaks in 2 tires, so decided enough was enough. Also reinforced by passing a car the other day who blew a front tire, which threw his steering off. I missed getting in a collision by inches. Kinda makes you say hmmm, ya know?
I am doing ok, by the Grace of the Almighty.

Had one of Karen's horses colic today so we gave him some Banamine and spent all morning walking him to get him to move his bowels. He finally did and seems to be doing fine. Gonna have to watch him closely for next few days.

Had some Elizabethan Mixture in a MM Bing, all while sitting on the back deck under the fan. Wasn't too bad, actually.

Passing the half way mark of this bowl of Watch City Jim’s Golden Ticket in a straight smooth brown mid-late 60s Corporate Era Barling 5579 London England (made by Charatan) lumberman with a black vulcanite double comfort stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo. Just let Tomato the Brave in for his wet food time.

Thanks. He liked his Danes for sure, and fortunately he’s still with us. Unfortunately I don’t get so see him often.
I wish I could remember (and due to his age he can’t) which Iwan Ries Three Star he smoked, I think it was blue. I’ll have to get some.

Oh wow, that is wonderful that he's still living. I should have not made that assumption. We all know what "assuming" can do.......
Next time you chat with him, tell him his pipes were a big hit on "The Forum."
