A smattering of each C&D XXV blend was dropped off by Santa the mailman today!!
While the source remains questionable, I’m tickled!
Gracie’s trying to bite Bob’s face off because I’m dawdling taking a pic of the NoName Dane and myself while the hay cart is full and their bins are empty.

Nice Pipe. Not one of yours I've seen before. Do tell, what is it?

Quite some time has passed since I last posted. My baby is now a toddler and almost 17 months now and that means less time for smoking or keeping up with the WAYS thread.

Smoking some Five Brothers while breaking in a new Vauen Dr. Perl McRooty 9 I got as an refurbished estate from Mr. @Dshift. It’s a great pipe that was designed for those old 4mm paper filters so it’s pretty old.

Welcome back and congratulations in the next stage of you're youngun's development. Stunning pipe for sure!

Good Morning to All. Significant Morning Smoke to post today. Change of pace from my usual minicob cherry and grape cigar. This morning, I loaded my pipsqueek McQueen Miniature Acorn with Bengal Slices, and so enjoyed it that I reloaded the same pipelet (hardly ever do this) for a repeat. Not quite as good, as expected, but good enough. For whatever reason, this combination has always given me about 25 minutes (it's dedicated to this tobacco, which leads to an interesting find in today's Skippable Drivel, posted below the rather hastily done and sloppily processed pic.

Sorry for my ebullience, but my health, tastebuds and recovery are all progressing very well, and yeah, I'm obviously enthused. It is important to remember, though, that every silver lining has a cloud.
Great to hear, Gord. Glad you're feeling better. I don't think I would place that kind of health news in the "Skippable Drivel" section. ha.

The line "Every Silver Lining Has Cloud" is from a 1980s British Television show put out by BBC, which featured puppets from the Royal Family as buffoons. Can't remember the name of the show, but it was Monty Pythonesque in it's use of lampooning type of humour.

They lampooned everything, including popular tunes, with a puppet "house band" that was usually the highlight of the show. They, of course, were poking fun at a current hit tune, "Every Cloud has a Silver Lining." It was sung by some crooner a la Dean Martin, but the name of the crooner also escapes me.

There was no inherent meaning to the quote except for the title twist itself.

And thanks for the comments. Appreciated. I'm feeling way better now, with improvement on all fronts except my memory. And losing things all of the time, putting them in a safe place so I'd remember where they were, and promptly losing them until they appear right in front of my nose. Like the other pop tune " . . . I Remember youOOOOOOOO!" :ROFLMAO: Which I'm trying to forget. Drove me nuts.

C&D House Reserve Spring '23 for the first bowl in the Ali brandy meer.
From the wonderful smell of the stuff I was really hoping for something special, but other than a hair of creaminess here and there, much was left to be desired.

Nice to see some color there. Coming along for sure. I have a touch of that on one of my big meers, but only a touch. Apparently takes a long time. I have three meers, one meer lined bowl, and very little patience. Quothe the Raven, "Nevermore." At least they smoke great and are broken in.

A third of a bowl left of Wilke Lizzie Blood Virginia in a straight black with a burgundy undertone sandblasted early 1960s Lane era Charatan 420 billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Went out to get the mail, and Daisy the Feral Princess was laying under my car in the cool grass. Harry the Hairy is inside batting around and pouncing on furry cat nip balls. Dunno where Tomato the Brave is hiding. Sleepy Suzy is by my side. Molly Danger is on m'lady's lap.
