Smoking Peter Stokkebye 6 Vanilla out of a Stanwell Hans Christian Andersen 2.

Thanks!I've probably told you this several times already, but this is just a beautiful pipe. Probably my favorite one that gets posted. Just an awesome looking pipe
I've sort of been the advocate for this "waking up" concept a couple times at Pipe Club. Liked the comment on TR's regarding this where someone said that "tobacco becomes dumb in the tin / jar". Thinking about putting this to the test = open a tin, smoke a bowl fresh, then give it several weeks to "wake up" & try it again.Navy Rolls with 10+ years of age is a favorite of mine, this one is just like all the others. Smooth, rich, sweet, moderate but unmistakable perique presence, and great burning qualities. Whatever casing was used is just perfect to my taste.
When did you open your tin? I’ve found anything with significant age (more than 10 years) can take a week or two in the jar to “wake up”. That’s not always the case but it’s happened many times for me where I crack an old tin and it smells incredible and then I light up and everything tastes muted. 2 weeks in the jar later and it’s fireworks.
I meant to try some of that a couple years ago and it fell off my radar, thanks for the reminder!View attachment 406179

Maybe you'd like this, Carol:I agree. I like latakia blends any time. Like now for instance. Smoking Shepherd's Pie in a cob at the moment.
