Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm a third of the way through this bowl of year 2021 Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation Evening Flake in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson Ebony POTY 4AB No. 422/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Watching the Braves-Giants game. I just let Daisy the Feral Princess in to eat. Haven't seen Abner the Eager for four days now.

Navy Rolls with 10+ years of age is a favorite of mine, this one is just like all the others. Smooth, rich, sweet, moderate but unmistakable perique presence, and great burning qualities. Whatever casing was used is just perfect to my taste.

When did you open your tin? I’ve found anything with significant age (more than 10 years) can take a week or two in the jar to “wake up”. That’s not always the case but it’s happened many times for me where I crack an old tin and it smells incredible and then I light up and everything tastes muted. 2 weeks in the jar later and it’s fireworks.
I've sort of been the advocate for this "waking up" concept a couple times at Pipe Club. Liked the comment on TR's regarding this where someone said that "tobacco becomes dumb in the tin / jar". Thinking about putting this to the test = open a tin, smoke a bowl fresh, then give it several weeks to "wake up" & try it again.

Close to finishing this bowl of year 2020 Peretti Blend W in a straight black sandblasted circa 1950s Comoy’s Peterson’s made for Peterson, Ltd. in Wisconsin billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Have enough for one more bowl. Cleaned a few pipes. Sleepy Suzy is by my side.

I agree. I like latakia blends any time. Like now for instance. Smoking Shepherd's Pie in a cob at the moment.
Maybe you'd like this, Carol:
Just loaded my Stanwell 64 Vario with a Parfait ...
Top 1/3 = Margate
Bottom 2/3 = Fillmore
NOTE: Tonight @ 9:20pm was almost pitch dark.
Saw another Back-to-School ad today. Saw another TV ad for End-of-Season Sale on Patio Furniture.
Saw couple yellow leaves on the ground but haven't (yet) seen any in the trees.
Warm temps today, low 80's ... got another 5 to 7 weeks where we could still potentially get 90's.
August right around the corner but anticipation high for first nights in the 50's. ;)

Enjoyed a tasty red delicious apple, and am smoking year 2012 Anniversary Kake in a smooth burgundy medium bend 1979 Chippendale (Charatan second) Rhodesian 49 with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Smokes as well as a first and worth the $19.95 I paid for it all those years ago.
