Wonderful story, Paul and great memories. Thanks for sharing them.Yes it is. It was from a Dear friend and it only gets occasional use and dedicated to Capstan Blue only.
In 1985 I got my first tin of Capstan from my local B&M and really liked it but I smoked mostly codger and house blends due to being a teen and the cost. Then in 1990- 1991 I smoked nothing but Capstan full time while deployed and it sunk in pretty hard with me. I figured with the memories I have associated with Capstan and this being my most sentimental pipe they deserved each other. Capstan back then was hard to acquire and wasn’t like it is now with being able to get it easily. I hope this recent change keeps it going so I can continue to add more to the cellar.
I've been trying Briar Fox in various pipes -- today the Neerup Classic 4 Dublin Sitter gets a go.
It's a good time of day (er, night) to sit outside.
Drink is Pepsi Zero with Rum, fresh lime, and miniature icebergs.

I’d call it an Acorn loosely but I can say that the Neerups tend to smoke really well.
I don’t own any Neerup pipes yet, but I’ve been seriously eyeing them — just yesterday I was going through their catalog. Looking at this shape, isn’t it more of a Cherrywood? Or would you classify it as a Dublin? I’d love to hear what experienced owners think, especially regarding how this shape smokes.
P.S. liked this pipe

Well, I call it "Dublin Sitter" mainly because that's what they (Danish Pipe Shop) called it when I purchased it (new) in 2013. But, sure it's got some Cherrywood vibes, I'd say.

Thank you very much for the detailed reply! It’s interesting to hear how the shape is labeled by the maker — I agree there’s something in between a Dublin Sitter and a Cherrywood vibe going on. Your smoking impressions are also very helpful, especially regarding the filter — I think that’s an important point for many of us. Great to hear it’s light and easy to clench. Your pipe looks wonderful and clearly gives you a lot of pleasure!Well, I call it "Dublin Sitter" mainly because that's what they (Danish Pipe Shop) called it when I purchased it (new) in 2013. By the way, I've found it to be an excellent smoker, very finely made with a fantastic draw, and also my easiest clencher due to its lightness of weight. It's also my only filter pipe (9 mm). The *only* thing I might change if I had a magic wand is to do away with the filter. I use balsa wood filters, and I really like them, but I just don't want to bother with changing them every other smoke.
In any case, assuming their quality hasn't changed, I highly recommend Neerup.
EDIT: And regarding the one you showed in your images, I agree with @PaulRVA in calling that Acorn. I think they do call that Acorn at Danish Pipe Shop.
