Had to run some errands in the heat this afternoon, I brought the Barontini 1/2 spigot bent billiard loaded with Sutliff 507-C with a pinch of Lane 1-Q on top. I may have found my perfect parfait ! At least perfect today ... until I find the next one. As for errands I have reached the age that I can only ask people my age or older for directions as no one else knows the old landmarks and the two map programs direct you in an 'unnatural' convoluted way.
Almost half way through this bowl of year 2013 Stonehaven in a straight black sandblasted 1957 Barling Exel 249 Fossil T.V.F. black billiard with a silver banded military mount and a black ebonite tapered stem. Have enough Stonehaven left for about half a bowl or a smaller pipe. I'll figure it out which later, but it's likely that this (my favorite) pipe will go on hiatus for a few months. It'll get an extra clean during that time.

Just finished smoking year 2014 Sam Gawith Best Brown Flake in a straight smooth brown 1933-1945 Comoy’s patent Grand Slam 159 *4 apple with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Finished cleaning a few pipes, too. I caught up on the baseball trade news... ho hum. Abner the Eager has been inside much of the afternoon, mostly snoozin'. The other ferals are outside.

Just finished a bowl of a mix of leftover bits and pieces from previous bowls of Sunbear and Blockade Runner. I'm a fan of both but this mix of the two was better than either alone. If you've got both, give a mix a try...
I was able to set aside 45 minutes today for myself (retired life means I have no free time – I’m clearly doing something wrong) so I took the dog on a walk to the lake. I smoked a bowl of Velvet in my old Dr. Grabow Zulu. If there’s a better pairing of codger tobacco and pipe, I haven’t come across it yet. It was a great smoke!
After dinner is as good of a reason as any...
