Haven’t had a pipe for a little while, and it was difficult to choose what to have. I’m still comparing Habana Daydream with Billy Budd, and today was the latter’s turn, with an MM Legend and a palm swirl pack. Initial light was easy and it stayed lit for quite a while, but then took a lot of relights. The bowl lasted only 30 min or so because it was pretty loose up top.

I haven’t had Billy Budd for several weeks, and my memory believed it had a much stronger cigar aroma and flavor than I got: maybe I confused the two. It was still very nice, though.

Since the smoking time was shorter than usual, I followed up with an Undercrown Shade coronet, which complemented the Billy Budd nicely, both in flavor and nicotine.

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am half way through this bowl of Per G. Jensen Blender’s Collection Aromatic #4 in a 1976 black rough carved Pioneer Meerschaum Hungarian with a pearl brown acrylic saddle stem. Putting the finishing edits on this review. I'll post all the Per Jensen Collection reviews tomorrow.

Motzek Strang, which Jim once called "the best durn tobacco made", until it wasn't. Apparently Herr Motzek sold his business and the new guy screwed it up I guess. Sound familiar ? Smoking it in a Chacom morta with some Kirkland Small Batch Bourbon on the rocks. Not bad for $20 a liter. I've had worse at that price point.

All true. I'm just happy that I was able to stock a bunch of sticks when I had the chance. Btw, you inspire me to dig out a little from a jar.

Costco products really fly under the radar. It’s been noted that most times, the Kirkland brand products are rebranded name-brand products: The Kirkland diapers are rebranded Huggies, their Kirkland Medium Roast is rebranded Starbucks Pike Place coffee, and even their “Kirkland Organic Unbleached All-Purpose Flour” is organic flour from Central Milling Co. flour, which is a really good company for those who aren’t familiar.

I turned around a bottle of Kirkland Pinot Grigio while perusing their white wines months ago to read the flavor notes, and at the bottom of the label were the words: “Prodotto dell’Italia”, which is essentially Italian for “Product of Italy”. Being a lover of Italian wines, I perked up, and was not disappointed in that bottle… at $6.99 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ending my night late, with my standard 20oz cup of Mayorga Café Cubano dark roast (Costco, since we’re bringing them up), with a touch of dark sugar.

Sipping some nicely dried MacBaren Virginia No. 1, in a small(er) Ehrlich Handmade Canadian with a lovely mixture of flame and birdseye graining. Drying out this blend REALLY calms it down, and turns it into an enjoyable, tasteful experience that I think most don’t experience when smoking it.

Did a fair amount of low calorie snacking, and passing the first third of this bowl of Peretti Blend W in a straight black sandblasted circa 1950s Comoy’s Peterson’s made for Peterson, Ltd. in Wisconsin billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Half way through this bowl of year 2021 Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation Evening Flake in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson Ebony POTY 4AB No. 422/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. In a little while, I'm going to bring Harry the Hairy in the house for the first time. We're having him neutered in the morning, and I'm going to put him on lock down until we take him to the vet in a few hours. I'd wait until my bed time, but I can't take the chance that he may not be around when we need to take him if I leave him outside. Once Harry spends a day inside for recovery, he goes back out. Sadly, we're putting Sam the Scamp outside this afternoon so Sleepy Suzy and Molly Danger will get their lives back. I wish somebody would have adopted her and Harry. :(

Now smoking Watch City English Ernie-ental in a straight dark brown and tan rusticated Peterson 2023 Saint Patrick’s Day 264 Canadian with an Irish flag colored ferrule and tapered black acrylic stem. I'll probably end the day with this smoke. So far, Harry the Hairy is behaving. Hope that continues when I go to bed.
