Just finished smoking year 2021 Watch City Glass Slipper Micro-Batch in a post-2000 straight brown sandblasted Tom Eltang cherrywood with a black acrylic saddle stem.
Now smoking Watch City Original Crumb Cut in a 1950s-60s straight smooth brown Bertram 07 octagonal paneled billiard with a square shank and a tapered black vulcanite stem.
I received three volumes of these compendiums of The Tobacco Trade Review today to send on to a friend in the US. Only had a chance to glance through them so far but they’re very interesting and have some incredible ad’s, new -for the time- pipe innovations and even machinery for tobacco production. This one is for the year 1895.
Breaking in this lovely Savinelli with some 2020 Sun Bear. Trying to keep in the honey theme and dedicate this pipe to that blend and all it’s iterations.
Now smoking D&R Raccoon’s Friend in a pre-1980s straight dark brown Comoy's Sandblast 186 billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
Finishing up this tin of Eccentric in an Abe Herbaugh, looking forward to a new tin of HH Latakia flake. Also, got this Satou on trade, this will be Satou #2!
Mark Tinsky Stack Billiard and C&D bulk Star of the East. I love the draw on this pipe. Nice and heavy.
Boiled crabs and crawfish today with some help from Modelo.
Happy Friday to all !
Still 88 degrees (cooler by a lot than the last few) but more shade and breeze on the deck. KBV Dark Fired Cherry (really good and the cherry is subtle) and a Kaywoodie Connoisseur and a little company - Saturdays are official weigh in days but at 15 weeks old tomorrow I think she’ll edge over 20 lbs. - thank goodness she’s finally learned to negotiate stairs!
