This is my favorite Aro to date, it’s a recent release, I’ve heard different stories about older batches. But if you love light floral VAs, or you’re searching for an Aro, put this on your list!

Close to finishing this bowl of Wilke No. 515 in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This was the blend Basil Rathbone smoked.

Last smoke of the day is AceFour’s VaBur in the third pipe I ever bought ($1.95), a 1974 smooth straight French briar Hadley NEBPC apple with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Still have some stuff to do before bed time.

Is that a Lee Star Grade, 5 pointed star era, two star Lee?

LOL, and rusticated at that. It was in bad shape when I received it. Briarville was able to bring it back - I didn’t have the patience for it. For all the ballyhooed banter about “Lee Star Grade Pipes”. by a certain solicitor, I have found them to be an enjoyable smoke. Lotuseater was correct in using the word mediocre- the finish and the grain is fairly standard - but the briar is dense. Rich at Briarville has the same observation. They are a “heavier“ pipe and it shows up in the quality of the smoke. Heavy isn’t the word I am looking for, but it is the only one that comes to mind. I have smoked Petersons for decades and I can state that the consistency of quality in the Lees in terms of briar exceeds my experiences with Pete’s.

Starting the day with some hot coffee and a bowl of Anthology. After three bowls in three different pipes, I can safely say that this is a thoroughly satisfying tobacco. I hope everyone has a blessed day.

Good morning all. I’m smoking Bob’s Chocolate Flake and drinking a cup of coffee, on this gorgeous Sunday morning.
This is another blend that pairs perfectly with a cup of joe, and I tend to forget about it until I smoke it again, and then I wonder why I’m not smoking it every morning.

We bought a new coffee maker that has a cold brew making function, and the only beans I had on hand were some small batch single origin Sulawessi from Indonesia and goddammit if this isn't the absolute best cold brew I've ever had in my life.
