Enjoying some Druquer and Sons "Loch Ness" through my Savinelli Roma 673 KS. And yes, I am using a Savinelli 6mm carbon filter. I will often smoke blends back to back with the filter and without a filter. I feel it gives me a good opportunity to isolate certain flavors. And I will say this particular brand is worth the experimentation... Delicious.
Just finished smoking SWRA in a straight, black sandblasted undated Comoy’s Sunrise Etched Grain straight apple 551 with a black vulcanite saddle stem.
Now smoking Rattrays Old Gowrie in a smooth brown 1976 GBD Seventy Six 256 lumberman with a black vulcanite saddle stem.
Capstan Blue in a large Stanwell Rondo billiard.
Solani Aged Burley Flake in a Peterson Bulldog
Cleaning my traveling pipes and smoking Gawith and Hogarth Dark Bird's Eye Shag in a 9mm Butz Choquin bent Billiard.
Almost a third of the way through this bowl of Wilke Lizzie Blood Virginia in a straight black with burgundy undertone sandblasted early 1960s Lane era Charatan 420 billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Off to work I go!

Recently thought about buying some dark bird's eye for the first time. But was concerned that a shag tobacco would burn up in the blink of an eye-i.e., burn too fast. Does it?
Much faster than a broken flake.Shag is good for a large chamber.That being said,it's an excellent smoke,and worth a try.

A third of the way through this bowl of C&D Derringer in a straight smooth brown 1920s (Comoy’s) Lions Head 399 Canadian with a tapered black vulcanite stem. I don't know who originally bought this pipe almost a hundred years back, but it was never smoked much. Time to brew some Community Coffee, which I haven't had the last few days because of all the humidity.
