1920s unbranded 'Prince'
+ Radfords BLACK MAPLE:-

Continuing from yesterday's CLIFTON DE LUXE pipe made by Hall & Fitzgerald in the early 1930s the repeated story is that Loewe & Co. created the 'Prince' shape in the early 1920s for the then Prince of Wales.
Whether 'tis true or an urban myth I'd suggest that Hall & Fitzgerald possibly got there first with the 'Prince' shape - these two dated to 1920 this time in a natural finish for a change:-
H&F into a rectangle -
William Sydney Hall and Edward Thurston Davies trading as Hall & Fitzgerald of 147 Temple Street, Bristol - "Merchants of tobacconists' fancy goods"

Thank you that means a lot. It’s been a long time coming and the whole tournament has been a perfect exercise in sportsmanship from all sides. Even the referees were great, letting the game flow and the players get on with it. I think every team involved had their moments to be proud of.
I've twisted the old maxim about football vs. rugby
("football is a game for gentlemen played by hooligans and rugby is a game for hooligans played by gentlemen")
to
"Football is a game played by gentleman watched by hooligans"
