I came across an experiment that I fooled around with a couple years ago & tossed in a jar. I forgot about it till I came across the jar today.
Carter Hall ‘fortified’ with Cotton Boll. I may have mixed it 2/3 CH and 1/3 Boll, but maybe only 20% Boll. I don’t recall & didn’t mark that on the jar. - Today I tried a half bowl of it smoked in a small Genod bent billiard. As you can imagine this is extreme in the nicotine department. I find Boll to have a harsh unpleasant taste but that aspect seems to have mellowed over the last couple years. But it’s still there in the background. This experiment resulted in CH at least as strong as the plug & rope tobaccos I enjoy, but falls far short in the taste department. So back in the jar it goes.
Now smoking Wilke Peanut Butter in a 1980s black sandblasted slight bend Savory’s Argyll 281 Cherrywood with a black vulcanite tapered stem. Time to zoom with a few friends.
Almost half way through this bowl of D&R VIP in a 2004 smooth long shank Trever Talbot Ligne Bretagne Faite en Bretagne 4/3 lumberman with a black vulcanite tapered stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
Out in the carport decompressing from a long day testing COVID samples and dealing with dumb as dirt nurses. Chatham Manor in an Iwan Ries (Genod) straight billiard.
A third of the way through this bowl of D&R Windsail in a smooth straight dark brown family era “Canadian” by Sasieni with a black tapered vulcanite stem. Working in the studio.
Packed for later today, PS Amsterdam in a Johs smooth semi-rusticated Lovat, but a Lovat with a notably short shank, not the traditional Canadian type with a long shank. I believe PS has discontinued this blend. A slightly rarified Saturday smoke.
Just finishing this bowl of Low Country Pipe & Cigar Natural Virginia & Burley in a 2020 straight black sandblasted Merchant Service “Bing” Standard with a nickel band and black vulcanite tapered stem.
